Mediterranean holiday in April
In the Mediterranean in April, you can expect long sunny days, uncrowded resorts and a friendly welcome, as the locals gear up for the summer season. Walking is great and you can expect to see hanging with wild flowers carpet. May be the only drawback is the sea a bit cold for swimming.

If you want to rent a villa in the Med, we recommend Gozo for the rural charm of Paxos for a real experience unspoilt Greek island and the beautiful French island of Corsica.
Further south, the island of Crete offers an excellent range of accommodation including boutique hotels and stylish villas to rent, with even better opportunities, excellent weather.April is also a good time to be in Greece to experience the Orthodox Easter. In 2012 the Orthodox Easter falls on 15 April.
Mallorca is usually associated with cheap vacation packages to resorts but away from the budget, it is a beautiful island with some beautiful villas. On the Spanish mainland, we have found some very valuable villas in Catalonia.
Further south, in Spain, the Costa de la Luz is magical, while the Aegean coast of Turkey offers surprisingly good weather in April, when it's not too hot for some serious sightseeing. Take a look at this wonderful collection of boutique hotels.
Northern Cyprus is a wonderful destination in April, not only for its sunny climate, but also because prices are too (it is outside the euro zone). Our favorite hotels are the Pia Bella near Kyrenia harbor.
Other hotels we recommend the Mediterranean Forte Village Resort in Sardinia are - which is great for families, couples and athletes - and Greek Sani Resort on the mainland.
This is also a great time of year for a gourmet cooking break. You could learn from a top chef like Alastair Little and Angela Hartnett, while exploring the beautiful countryside of Italy, Spain or France and enjoy tastings and tours market.
